things that make my day #1
Friday, December 10th, 2010There are a few regular buskers at the Civic Center BART station. I exit on the UN Plaza side, and Crazy Red Violin Guy is there scratching out a “tune” probably 75% of the time I walk by. (Even more amusing when the good violinist is there playing an actual song a few yards away–as you’re coming down the escalator, you see Crazy Dude first but can hear the actual violinist playing, so at a glance it seems like Crazy Dude is really playing.)
There’s Accordion Guy with his dog Ginger, but he’s usually at the Hyde & Grove exit, which I try to avoid because that escalator smells like a latrine. More so than the UN Plaza one, I mean.
The rest of the time, I either see Bluegrass Dude or someone random. Yesterday, though. Yesterday was awesome. I could hear a man shouting, “…something! Anything!” as I exited the fare gate, but there were too many people blocking my view at first. I thought it was a panhandler harassing people for change.
Turns out it was a guy pleading with a rooster. “Come on, do something! Anything! Please!” he begged. The rooster stood tethered to its cat carrier and fluffed its feathers nonchalantly.
Best. Busker. Ever.
